    How It Works

    1

    Enter the trip totals

Type the full accommodation cost for the whole stay — the grand total including taxes and cleaning fees — and how many nights the trip lasted.

    2

    Add each person’s nights

Add a row per person and enter how many nights they actually stayed. Someone who joined late or left early only pays for their own nights.

    3

    Split by person-nights

The total is divided by all person-nights combined, then multiplied by each person’s nights. Stay twice as many nights, pay twice as much.

    Worked Example

Three friends book a 6-night stay for a grand total of $1,200. Ana stays all 6 nights, Ben stays 4, and Cara stays 2.

    Person Nights stayed Share
    Ana 6 $600.00
    Ben 4 $400.00
    Cara 2 $200.00
    Total 12 person-nights ($100.00 each) $1,200.00

    Frequently Asked Questions

What if someone only stayed part of a night?

Count the nights they slept there. For partial stays, agree as a group whether it counts as a full night before you calculate.

Should I enter the total before or after taxes and fees?

Enter the grand total from the booking confirmation, including taxes and cleaning fees, so every cost is shared fairly.

What about couples sharing one room?

Count each person separately — two people sharing a room for 5 nights equals 10 person-nights.

Is my trip data sent to a server?

No. The calculation runs entirely in your browser. Nothing you enter is uploaded, stored, or shared.
